Dog rescuer Lisa Chiarelli came across a black pitbull on the street and pulled over to try to get her. The dog came pretty close but was a little too scared to approach all the way. The dog ran away, but Lisa would keep at it.
It would take three weeks (21 straight days!) to finally persuade the dog into the crate and rescue her. She didn’t know it at the time, but a much better life awaited her. The pit bull was taken to the vet and checked over, and it wasn’t long before she gave a little tail wag!
A month after being rescued, Xena would go on to her forever home. Black pit bulls are the hardest dogs to get adopted, but that’s exactly what this family wanted! Lisa’s determination really paid off in the end.
